Actually the person reading it to him screwed up (I think Supreme Court Justice)... but Obama was quick on his feet and corrected it.

Good speech, he was very inclusive and I liked his choice of words.

Did anyone see the Minister Joseph Lowery's speech? His ending was awesome.

The day when black will not be asked to get back, brown can stick around, yellow will be mellow, the red man can get ahead, man, and white will embrace what is right! Amen!

LADIES & GENTLEMEN, THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! BARACK Obama Obama Obama Obama... *BASS DROP* BOOOOOMMMM!!

Best quote of the entire event: "...looking foward to the day when black will not be asked to get back, brown can stick around, yellow will be mellow, the red man can get ahead, and white will embrace what is right! Amen!" - Minister Joseph Lowery

Amazing to see the amount of people (1 million+) fill up the 2-mile National Mall area between the White House & the Washington Monument!!

While we all know sudden changes cannot be expected, let's hope this optimistic approach carries us into peace & prosperity! =)

he messed up oath.. i thought he was christian? maybe he's actually muslim? :p

Quote off of comedy central (dont remember who) - "We just elected a black man begging for change" - hahahaha

Guys, lets not get lost in his unbelievable ability to speak because, Hitler gave great speeches too. << not sayin he's hitler, but listen to what he says. He can convince us of anything because he's so so good at speaking. I remember him saying, "I believe in family values." - well who's family's values? Mine? His? Kinnells? Think about what he's saying before you get mesmerized by him.

Best of luck to Obama. He'll need it. I feel this is a proper time for a democrat, but he's being thrown into a situation that can easily be made extremely worse. More than the economy, I wanna see how he handles foreign policy.

He didnt mess up the oath, Chief Justice Roberts fumbled his words when telling Obama to recite them. Obama paused for Roberts to correct himself.

Good Job Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts...

Obamas inauguration was filled with more hope than actual substance. Its not that I believe in him, but hope is what a lot of americans have been living on for the past year or more. I am a big obama supporter and have thanked the fact that Bush is out of office. However, it is comparable to say at the least that obama has come to the white house with the same fame and aplomb that FDR and Kennedy came into, so their will be a heavy burden on his back. Kennedy defused a world missile crisis and FDR took steps to take the country out of the worst recession in its history(albeit with the help of a war). Obama comes in possibly more popular with either, with a target on his back and a huge weight on his shoulders. He enters the presidency knowing that he is a rockstar(which could help him implement his policies) but also should know that his failures at any level will be magnified at a level unprecedented by his predecessors or maybe those who come after him. He will need to make tough and smart decisions past presidents have not encountered in an age where the average American voter is more aware then ever about politics and knowing that they will approve everything till crap hits the fan. I wish him the very best, but I know few who would want to be in those shoes.

thats right. in fact, he still hasn't recited the oath PROPERLY, in terms of word-for-word what is in the Constitution. Some people are saying he should retake the oath in private, on his own, just to be safe (since the Const says every president must say it exactly as it is). Roberts corrected himself, but then Obama ended up saying it the "wrong" way, putting faithfully after the phrase (he's supposed to say Faithfully execute, but instead he said execute the office of the pres. of the US, faithfully).

Haha, this article's funny - it points out that though Obama is the 44th president, only 42 people have been president before him (he said "44 people have now taken the oath" though actually he is the 43rd person to take the oath). That's cuz Grover Cleveland was president twice, as 22nd and 24th president. Nitty gritty, sure, but I thought it's funny
