As of now we had not planned to do a best dancer award but we will discuss it with our committee as well as judges and get back to you

All the teams have been notified of their status via email. Once all the accepted teams confirm that they will be attending r2b2 we will post the final lineup on our website smur2b2.com as well as on btf.

I think this is a pretty good Bhangra lineup. Gator Bhangra and Texas bhangra bring a lot of energy and unique formations. Texas Bhangra is known to have great mixes and they fuse Surjit Bindrakhias music well into their mixes (always a plus). APD has that modern flare to them which will be nice to see. I think a team like Three Rivers and Boston Bhangra would have been a nice addition to this lineup (if they did apply). Boston Bhangra's Bruin 2005 routine was off the hook and i know if they brought something similar to this competition it would steal the show!

If you like modern bhangra (i do) then this competition is for you. Wish all the teams nothing but the best, i have a strong feeling this is going to be a successful show. Living where i am you don't see great modern lineups like this, the audience will for sure see teams that will add a lot of creativity to their performances, keep up the great work organizers!

Predictions (my opinion)

1st. APD
2nd. Texas Bhangra
3rd. Gator Bhangra

Tarminder, I'm pretty sure they place top 2, not top 3. For example, if you didnt place for Raas, that would suck for you if there were 3 prizes. I'm pretty sure its gonna be top 2 in each category. Also, Three Rivers Bhangra is dead and I doubt they're coming back.

Nonetheless, here are my placings:

MSU Bhangra is a pretty versatile team. They should have placed 1st Bhangra Fusion 2007 (they placed 2nd to Boston Bhangra) and their routine at BOB last year, despite being all girls, was pretty competitive against co-ed teams.

If MSU is co-ed this year, then:
1] MSU
2] APD

If not, then I think it's gonna be:
1] APD
2] Karma

And Raas Placings:
1] NYU Raas Malai - 1st place Dandia Dhamaka last year. They will rock nonetheless.
2] Emory SaRaas

Thanks kinnel for commenting on one of my messages once again.

It was interesting to see Three Rivers make a surprise performance at Bhangra in the Burgh in 2007, they had a fun gimmick of a random guy comming on stage and promoting a hotel commerical (i think). It would be nice if they can make a comeback.

I'll take your word about MSU, lets see if they will place...but its going to be tough considering both texas and gator will bring a lot of energy to this competition.
