Sounds like UBC all over again.. Haha

lol That's what I was thinking about when reading that long post on top of mine.

Messing up placing is pretty jaloose though. I'd be pissed if I were on MBT and the other team who's placing got taken back.

The north american bhangra circuit is falling apart, so sad...
one team doesn't defy the circuit. The rest of us had a hell of a good time :)
A) Agreed
B) This is why most comps only allow only 2 captains/coaches per team and after 10 minutes the judges move onto the next team.
C) I'm so confused as to how all of this happened/works, but my honest opinion is that two days after a competition you "just so happen to realize that there was a miscalculation" is absolutely ridiculous. Teams already gone through the emotions of placings the first time, and now having them go through it a second time is completely absurd. To take the bull for however long, it seemed like the judges stood by their opinion-which you should have respected. End of story.

I've said it once, I'll say it a million times. Life isn't about placings. We all have legs and arms, and enjoy dancing bhangra. Maybe we should be happy and celebrate this simple fact, rather than have a riot after competitions and disrespect other teams. Humility goes a long way.

What irks me a lot is that the said team that started a riot and started to yell at the judges due to the original placings, clearly in a disrespectful way from what I read in this thread, was awarded a placing.

Sure the points may of been in their favor after all, but isn't there a rule in your reg. packet that claims there should be no disrespect towards committee members and judges? And if doing so, the team will be disqualified or at least docked marks? This should account to even after the competition is over and until the competition weekend is complete.

It just shows to other teams out there, especially new and upcoming teams, that they can get away with bad behavior on the bhangra circuit and sometimes even be awarded for it.

Lets not let this competition and committee define the rest. This sort of behavior would not be tolerated by most organizations.

I would like to start off by saying that this was NOT A COMMITTEE decision.
I was not aware of this and nor were any of the other committee members, we just found out recently just like the rest of you off of BTF. This is not a mutual decision, and I had no say in these new placings, it is unprofessional, unethical, and very wrong. I want to apologize on behalf of us who really put a lot off effort into making this a good competition, unfortunately it feels like all our hard work went to waste because of this decision made by the Main organizer. I do not ave any of the information (e.g. score sheets) but i will make sure the main organizer replies to all of your questions. Once again I am very sorry... especially to BAR-B and Michigan, this shouldn't have happened this way.

Oh I completely understand that many other competitions have never had this issue and would of dealt with this in a completely different way.

If only ALL competitions wouldn't tolerate this. I just hate hearing about stories of teams acting like this with no punishment afterwards.

Why do teams go to such Phud comps even after people warn them... I think its stupidity for teams to even apply. Bhangra Circuit should learn to listen and boycott such bullshit comps so that we don't have these problems in the future...

Because for a decent amount of teams, this is easier said than done. It's the choice between dancing and not dancing, and most people would choose dancing,,, even if it is at a crappy competition.

You know anil prasad was on to something with giving the smaller teams and newer teams a chance as well. If only bigger competitions like bruin, bbc, bayside, elite etc. could somehow make this happen... This circuit would run so much better ...

Sounds exactly like the last Rangla Punjab competition. J scene competition. The new placings teams should explain themselves to cause nobody is going to remember anything else about the competition except for the fact that it's a shady shit show.
