Agreed with faizan. Players like Yuvraj Singh and Afridi would flourish in 20 20 type cricket. While that's fun to watch, they live and die by attacking any ball thrown to em. While test matches are a bit boring to watch, you really see who has the patience and skill and can last sometimes even 2 days at the pitch.

The promulgation of 20/20 at the expense of test is not a good idea...it would lead to less rounded players, less diverse bowling, and a lack of fundamentals...more bat less ball, not a good look for cricket...that's like making baseball 3 innings, and everyone will play to win quickly, leading to more hitting and less focus on bowling...

I think that the limited over formats are good for entertainment, but for the preservation of the game, test matches and test style play must be preserved as the number 1 priority of the ICC.
i agree but from everything i have read the indians pretty much control the fate of cricket and their greedy asses just want to make the most money they can. the scheduling for all the 20/20 tournies is screwing up the ability of countries to go on long tours now.

20/20 is a capitalists dream, the ipl, and icl is ruining the nature of cricket...the game continues its downward turn.

also someone needs to do something about the pitches in south asia. they freakin suck. inflates scores and stats way too much for the batters and kills the bowlers.

You can't get Dravid out once he starts.

Also, Sachin is the man - he sounds like Mike Tyson tho (girly man voice)

aaaaahhh noooo Saeed Anwar

I know right Waleed, Anwar's record seemed so unattainable, just goes to show you, no record is untouchable, except maybe ripken's in baseball.

The pitches are meant for batting on purpose, because it entertains, but they definitely handicap the bowlers. The south asian development of reverse swing was a direct reaction to shitty pitches...hence why south asians use it the best...especially pakistani bowlers :)

wasim akram's reverse swing was the beastliest thing. i remember always being scared of it.

we need to stage a btf cricket match one day. that would be splendid.

hahaha... Nah man, I enjoy test cricket when it's between India and a rival(Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan)... I could careless when it's against New Zealand or someone... While test cricket can get boring at times, I respect the skill and mental concentration of the players to survive for so long... I lived in India between 1999-2002 and got a chance to watch a crap ton of cricket, ODI and Test... I survived watching Dravid, who I respect a lot, but man he has to be one of the most boring test cricketers in the history of the game... Watching him play built up my tolerance of extreme boring activity, hence I can survive 1-2 live teams at a competition without shooting myself...

WOW! how long have we been waiting to see this? a double century in a test match is a great acomplishment...but in a one day? a few years ago when sachin was having one of his many rough periods i thought that the only player capable of hitting 200 was Sehwag who was playing really aggresive at that time. i never thought sachin could do this at his age, hell i didnt think he could do it 6 years ago, but im very happy that he did. Best of all time

Sachin = sensational, what I respect the most about his game, is his ability to inspire the young guys on the team. His partnership with dinesh karthik ( who tends to loose focus and give away his wicket) showed his leadership. Tendulkar molded Sehwag when he came on the scene before the 2003 worlscup, and his partnerships with gambhir in the sri lanka series 2 seasons ago..... Tendulkar was a shitty captain, but he is the leader of this team, and simply the best in the game... hands down ;D

only knock people can have on sachin was that he was a shitty captain but he had a relatively sucky team at the time and didnt get much of a chance.

That, and going missing whenever needed most.
