Awesome, the day has finally come. This is the stuff we used to dream about, the bhangra scene has come a lot way. Does anyone have any background info on this?

Bhangra is a growing sub-culture and don't be surprised if it becomes one of those cultural things that mainstream North Americans embrace, for example: Copoeira, Salsa, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, etc you get the idea. All of those things were very alien at some point but Bhangra is one of those things that sells itself, bring someone to a bhangra class or have them watch a routine live - they automatically become fans, you don't have to convince them with words about how cool it is.

Palwinder and his crew from PTC came to our show and interviewed all the teams, singers, judges and committee memebers at Bulldog. I know he got some great footage, these guys are awesome =) looking forward to the final product!

I like this PTC Punjabi, they have good Punjabi Laughter shows, News Reporters(stole some from Jus Punjabi lol), good college shows and every now and than Miss Punjaban Shows. And ofcourse kabaddi, bhangra . It's worth the money people, subscribe it. That looks like a legit Documentary like HBO NFL ones. Very interesting with music and talking.

interesting. im gonna go ahead and play devil's advocate and say this may or may not be good for the circuit in terms of perpetuating the whole "bhangra celebrity" idea, and that it may also affect competitions and teams they accept. depends on how the show is set up and if they continue to travel to diff comps interviewing etc. however, its huge for the bhangra scene as a whole

i think that if they stay away from profiles of individual bhangra figures, there really shouldn't be any problem with "bhangra celebrities." and popular opinion already affects the teams picked for comps anyway; i dont really see this getting so big as to singlehandedly manipulate the public's exposure to bhangra.
