I was going to include NJ @ Elite 8 2010, but the topic specified this: ~ Basim :)

Great topic mrchicity! LBC @ Bruin Bhangra 2006 LBC - Bruin Bhangra 2006 It was BIG shocker when that routine didn't place - I remember making a big deal about it on POL. This was probably when the team as at their "peak" (imho). The performance was a "game changer" in introducing a person...

So I'm sure that I don't need to mention how talented each of these mixers are, but I have most of their "collaborations" on my ipod because I feel they do a kickass job and devote a lot of time into each mix they do together. Having said that.. I knew seeing these two off in the ladder would be...

My vote: DJ 1 Feedback: DJ 1 - Creative intro. I enjoyed the buildup into the main song, but be careful with stretching this out in the future because you really pushed the length of the "opening segment." You didn't hit the main song until about 0:47 - that's more than half of your entire...

There are a lot of comments stated earlier that I agree with, so just here casting my vote. DJ 1 ~ Basim :)

My vote: DJ 1 Feedback: DJ 1 - Simple intro using that English clip & echo sound effect, but it works. To be honest, I liked the concept of bringing in something unique like "the church in the wild" instrumental that others mentioned above me. I just felt it was off beat or perhaps something...

My vote: DJ 1 Feedback: DJ 1 - Wow, the black & yellow instrumental is so overdone! I was hoping for some more creativity to come later in your mix, but that never happened. Your equalization needs work too - the mix felt very flat to me (there should be instrumental separation). Also, there...

240p, we meet again! :P Nice performance ladies. A great tribute. Glad you guys could come together again to put some together. ~ Basim :) P.S. - sulmoney, not sure how much you frequent BTF anymore, but congrats once again! I saw a few videos from your wedding festivities and it looked like...

A jhoomer segment with this sad song is quite the challenge! My vote: DJ 1 Feedback: DJ 1 - I enjoyed the lower volume & "large hall" type of sound used for the buildup. There was also a smooth transition into "yeah" female English singing at around 0:15ish and the background effects used...

Not sure if "United Bhangra XXXXX" would be a good idea since there was a pretty prominent & established team a few years back with that name: United Bhangra @ Bruin Bhangra 2007 If your intentions aren't to compete nationally though, pick anything you want! ~ Basim :)

Thank you Gibb for chiming in! That's what I was going to guess as well. I think the main difference the two types of wood is whether the tree was "ripe" or "fully grown" when cut down - kacchi (literally translates to unripe) pakki (literally translates to grown). Below is a picture of the...

Hi DholiKhan, Here is a topic that answers your exact question: http://bhangrateamsforum.com/discuss/main-bhangra-discussion/dhol-wood-question/ Please try to use the SEARCH function on BTF before creating a topic and your life's questions will be resolved a lot quicker (promise!) ;) Here's...

Hi hooligansharma, You may want to check out BTF's official MASTER LIST- List of DJs to hire for mixes It should serve you well! Depending on the DJ's your like/prefer from that list, I would mass e-mail or mass PM them on BTF to see who would be interested. Hope this helps, ~ Basim :)

FYI jasjeet - your soundcloud link is saying "The track is currently not available." Might be part of the reason you haven't gotten any feedback yet ;) ~ Basim :)

So I'll be honest - I'm not really a fan of the original song, but your take on it is great. I actually prefer it over the original (which I can't say for the majority of mixes). I liked the whistle build up and especially like the part starting after the rap clip + gun shot at 0:09ish. It's...

Awesome lineup Idols! Some new/newer teams in there - I look forward to seeing what they can deliver. I absolutely love that there will be a LIVE STREAM for those us quite far away who are unable to attend. I wish we still had ventrillo, because this would have been a great time to utilize it...

Apologies to the both of you & neeti69 for the lack of songs. Unfortunately, we've had some issues go on with one of the mixing mods, so bare with us as we try to sort things out. You'll be receiving your individual songs by tomorrow at the latest (promise!). ~ Basim :)

Why thank you Sue - you've always been a sweetheart ;) I'd like to think the mixing challenge was only a small part of it. Over the years (yes I said years!!).. I've contributed in numerous other ways - just not everything was as "public" as the mixing challenge. It will definitely be hard to...

Hi jivan_3, Welcome to BTF. If you're looking for high quality shikke, then try to PM Harkiran who is also based in Vancouver. She will be your best bet at getting what you want and fairly quicky. If you're looking for not as high end ones, then ask her about shops in the Vancover area that...

Thanks for the clarification brotha. I just thought you guys had decided to create two seperate teams since this advert said "ALL GIRLS" team. I'll be thrilled if you guys stay co-ed because you had a great mix of dancers last season. Gurbir, I've heard you've been leading some big efforts out...
