YESSS! :D This is amazing. Love you Harjot!
Can't wait to see all the teams! G'luck to all.
Harjot, can you please add what time the live streaming will start? Is it at 6:00 p.m. PST?
~ Basim :)
EDIT: I forgot about Joshiley Jawan! They are all from the DC Metro/VA area and are comprised of experienced dancers from VCU, UVA, etc. So putting them in the lineup would definitely help defeat the "generating ticket sales" argument.
Unfortunately they don't compete as a team enough...
I actually agree with Omer's assesment that having a local team & diversity at Elite 8 is crucial for the competition's success.
Here is what he said in the blog:
"First and foremost, I would make sure there is a local team at the competition. For the last 2 years, VCU has fulfilled that...
For those that keep up with the Bhangra Empire blog by Omer (former dancer/now "coach"), he stated that Bhangra Empire will NOT be performing at Elite 8 2012 in one of his latest blog posts: http://bhangraempire.com/blog/2011/11/17/elite-8-2012-predictions-and-thoughts/
The 4th paragraph...
Oh boyyy! This article is an eye-opener. I'm sure Miss SAMMI will take keen interest in it. ;)
Fav parts:
"Mr Rai's team use spy cameras hidden in watches, key chains, lockets and shirt buttons. It is normal practice for Mr Prakash to wear disguises. He dresses as beggars, watchmen and...
These videos are AMAZING! Make sure you guys check them all out: http://www.youtube.com/user/MuseumofVancouver
Thanks for sharing them HdBrar!

Haha, yessss Danny! All I remember from that time was that MIT & Texas were trading blows at the biggest comps for collegiate teams - Blowout & Fusion to be particular. Unfortunately their winnings didn't last long.. I think from about 1998-2002 were the prime years.
Not sure if MIT has done...
The part that really "blew" my mind was that guy in the orange vardi (on the very right) moved from front to back at around 0:39 seconds and stepped on a land mine but never disintegrated.
Props on fighting through it orange guy!

@Joe - Respect to AEG for doing that.
@ Kinnell - I agree with your comments about BBC's lack of global exposure. Honestly, by the time Boston Bhangra Competition aires their events through their media partnership and releases their DVD, nobody even cares about them. We're like more than half...
Is it the competition or the sponsor that is enforcing videos to not be up? I think the competition organizors are acting on behalf of the sponsor to remove links. BBC should get a different sponsor if that's the case. It's pretty stupid for them to attempt to restrict videos from being posted...
Hmmm, the only person that I saw mention anything dealing with your videos was "Pakhtoon"
But since I'm nice and know ya, the link is removed!
EDIT: Just saw the post by Jackie. Sorry it was over looked.
Enjoy!
~ Basim :)
To prevent Boston Bhangra from claiming and removing the videos (gay sponsor), make sure you *DOWNLOAD THE VIDEOS TO YOUR COMPUTER ASAP!*
Download links for Bhangra Empire & FAUJ removed upon request.
*For those at that can't download them directly, search for them on youtube and use keepvid...
Love these video blogs Slambassador!
I hope in upcoming episodes you show more of you actually mixing, equalizing, and mastering songs. That would be sick to see how you combine different beats.
Keep it up buddy,
~ Basim :)
P.S. - Love G.Singh's voice with the vaja.
Thanks for posting all of these awesome songs up Hardeep!
I just wanted to write that I downloaded them, but have yet to listen to them all. I only listened to a few randomly.. so far so good! Enjoying them.. but as I get more free time, I'll sure that I'll be adding them to my ipod...
