This was fun to watch. I like their style and competitions need teams like them...

no disrespect..but live gets boring..if every fuckin team in the universe does it.

You are right in that they bring a different style to competitions. It's definitely a lot different than live or traditional bhangra and I have no problem with that. My biggest thing is they repeat everything over and over. Seems like they've been doing the same exact set for the past 5 years.

You have a valid point, but until the judging rubric allocates points for bringing a new routine from the previous competition or previous season ("season" would need to be defined), APD will continue to bring home trophies. They may not get as much street cred for bringing back crowd-pleasing elements from previous routines with little modification, but their placement at a competition should not be contested based on that sole reason.

I guess you make a valid point in that competitions don't really care if you bring the same routine back. But doesn't APD themselves get bored doing the same thing year after year? Don't they want to do something new and challenge themselves? It's easy being clean and coordinated if you practice the same simple moves over and over. I personally think they take the easy way out, have no originality or creativity.

Didn't you see kinnel's checklist? they added a bunch of more segments that they never did any other year. But APD style will always be APD style. They're the only monkeys willing to risk themselves for these ridiculous stunts and it's their signature crowd pleaser. And with all due respect, PDDS looked like it had the same routine once you guys went live for many years too; that's because you followed the standard segments most traditional/live teams would include.

APD is just following their winning routine and being true to their own style.

Without the stunts, it was sort of a lackluster performance.

I too am not really into this style, and the way/manner in which some of the "traditional" moves are executed is very odd - the angles and hands and such.

IMO, and of course you can agree to disagree, there's only so long you can stay on top with this style. Another top team did the same thing for a long time...and they're slowly fading from that position.

The tower is cool - it takes a lot of effort and practice I'm sure.

Whether I'm a fan of the APD style or not, I think that people shouldn't be hating against any teams style. Obviously the style a team has is not going to change. If you tell Heeray to go change their style to be like Empire more than likely they will laugh at you and say no same thing goes for Empire if you ask them to go live... But I do agree that the moves aren't executed in the way they should be. Honestly, the performance was exciting and fun to watch to doubt about that but I guess what everyone is saying is that APD should bring something new. Same was as they brought stunts, gimmicks, segments this year, they should bring something new and better next year. But we have to wait after summer to see what they do and what they bring!

P.S. Loved the voice of the singer in the begining [got lots of potential] and the mix was sick. Congratulations on the 1st Place.
haha I believe he's already proved his great potential with his new songs/album with DBI and concerts at bhangra comps like Fusion 2010. DJ Sandhu, I believe, is what he goes by. I'm a fan of the voice as well...
His names Amar Sandhu, goes by DJ Sandhu lol you guys he was the 2nd one to post!

Please expand on this notion. I would love to know how "people from less reputable teams" should be conducting themselves and how they should be responding to teams who win trophies.

a lot of people on here are just staight up talking shit instead of giving constructive critisim. APD's style is something that makes them who they are. What would RPD be without the folk?

You need something to back up your critism.

What posted in this thread has not been constructive? No one has outright hated on APD at all. Each post has been respectful and constructive. The only shit talking was you insinuating some people are part of "less reputable teams".

I don't know about you guys but I'd be much more willing to take advice from nachdi jawani or shaan e Punjab then some
random bhangra team who seem to think my team is repetitive and need to alter our style.

So it's not hateful to say a team keeps recycling the same routine? And that you just don't like their style?
