I don't know about you guys but I'd be much more willing to take advice from nachdi jawani or shaan e Punjab then some
random bhangra team who seem to think my team is repetitive and need to alter our style.

So it's not hateful to say a team keeps recycling the same routine? And that you just don't like their style?
Oh word, Mods, deactivate everyone's accounts if they aren't Nachdi Jawani or Shan-E! No one outside of those teams know anything about bhangra.

No, its not hateful to say a team recycles their routine. Hateful would be to say "you guys suck" and offer no explanation. When people say things like "Once again like I said, i may not be a fan of your style but I respect that you guys do what you love" and "P.S. Loved the voice of the singer in the begining [got lots of potential] and the mix was sick. Congratulations on the 1st Place" how can you consider it hateful?

The hate is from YOU my friend, for continuing to bash people on teams you don't consider "reputable". Maybe I don't consider Toronto teams "reputable" for their cockyness and arrogance.

Cockiness and arrogance? Look who's generalizing now.
We work hard for our titles but more over we have a love for bhangra.

Toronto based teams come up with highly innovative ideas. We are also lucky to live in areas with a large population of desis which means we by default get a lot of support.

Too add I mentioned those teams because RPD has close ties with them, especially shaan e.

Okay so what makes a team "reputable" according to you? I think anyone who has an OPINION should express it. Those with EDUCATED opinions should be weighed out and taken accordingly. It is agreeable that you should take certain people's opinions with a grain of salt. But just becuase you're on team X doesn't mean ANYTHING to me. I will still take your opinion on my performance/my team, weigh it, and then do what ever I think is best. I dont care if youre on Podunk Bhangra or Khalsa College. An opinion is an opinion. What I take from that opinion is my business.

You say you work hard for your titles but moreover you have love for bhangra. Does a person on a "less reputable team" have ANY less love than you? or does this automatically mean that they work ANY less than you? no it does not. This "reputable team" statement was rather elitest, and I agree with Harman, the most hateful thing said thus far.

But then again, who am I to even say this if I'm not on a reputable team.

APD, you guys know how I feel about your guys sets, change it up. You've conquered what you've shown us. This does not speak about you guys as people, or even as dancers. Keep the style, keep the swag. Show me something new though. Leave me in awe like the first time I saw the 5 man tower go up. The whole circuit is ready to see WHAT YOU DO NEXT.

Honestly all of us on BTF love Bhangra, just because someone is from Toronto doesn't make them a Bhangra expert and if some's not from Toronto doesn't mean they don't know what's Bhangra. If you only want your advice from Nachdi Jawani or Shaan e Punjab ... thats kool ... they are really good teams but just because you have ties with them doesn't give you any right to insult other teams/BTF members by calling them less-reputable.

Also it is an open forum to all of the community that loves Bhangra, and everyone has the right to express themselves as long as they are respectful to other people's opinions. Therefore not liking a style is opinion and expressing that one is bored with the same routine is encouraging the team to bring out something new.

personally, I think Bhangra is being taken slightly too seriously now a days. The one consistent thing I have read through the posts on the thread is that the reason dancers dance is because they love Bhangra - wanting to rape the season is secondary. I think everyone has a valid opinion as long as it is constructive. Im sorry to join in on the hatefest but for someone to insinuate that you do have not have a valid opinion simply because you are not on a 'reputable team' is straight up rude. That remark could have been said diffrently. Heck, I not even a dancer - I organize Bhangra Competitions year round as my volunteer work. It was something that just happened and now my world revolves around organizing events and Bhangra. Everytime I watch a performance whether it be over youtube or live, I was smile because it makes me happy. It shouldnt matter about how well known a team is, it should be how dedicated and committed the team is. But thats how I see it, take it or leave.

PS. I completely agree with Kush. The routine is amazing but it has been seen - that 5 man tower is wicked & frightening all at the same time! Change it up, bring something new. Prove to everyone why some of us (including myself) think you guys completely raped the seconda half the season and are the team to beat. I think there are enough people who believe you guys can bring something mindblowing for next season, its just you guys need to make it happen.

make all the haters eat their words.

While we expect some controversy about placings at this point (which is in itself sad, but topic for another day)....we would hope that the words of one person don't generate more posts than the actual point of the thread. Please try to stay on-topic, positive, and constructive, and if that means letting things go then maybe restraint is the correct action.

also, fairly certain there's a rule against posting Soulja boy videos. The Wire can stay ;)

You either love APD's style or you hate it. Personally, I hate it. None the less, congrats on executing what you do and winning first place.

My concern with this performance is APD does the same thing year after year. Always predictable. Guy standing on another guy's shoulder on one leg, with the rest of the team revolving around him with sapps. 30 seconds later a platform holding up another stunt. 30 seconds later a car gimmick involving a steering wheel. 30 seconds later a gimmick in which one side pauses and the other does a move and vice versa. Lastly a big stunt with one guy climbing his way up.

Once again like I said, i may not be a fan of your style but I respect that you guys do what you love. But if you told me this was Bruin 06, I'd believe it... or Blowout 08...or Fusion 09. Same moves, same stunts, same outfits, same everything. I think it's time you guys challenge yourselves some and do something different. I personally can't watch any of your performances because they are all the same.

By the way, any reason why your dholi doesn't wear a bhangra pugh?

I agree its the same stuff every year
