I just now noticed that, thanks for pointing that out brother! I understand the desire to create the gimmick where they run behind the stage prop and change instruments, but the shikay should not have been thrown in the garbage can like that, regardless of them being taken out afterwards or not...

You must give props to APD for doing what they are doing and WINNING. The critiques always digress into a discussion of what Bhangra truly is which in turn becomes a discussion of "Modern" vs. "Traditional". Save that for chai and biscuits. Or a different thread.

My critique: As someone who grew up watching KJ, APD is eeerily reminiscent of KJ.

We've been through this a hundred times. Let it go, if you're unhappy throw your own damn comp and bring your own judges. There is always very little APD response to largely negative threads and I have to applaud them for the restraint. Just wished more people showed it.

Besides 1 or 2 people who actually said anything similar to that? The conversation was respectful and productive for the most part.

For those saying "why critique them if they are winning?" I can bet you I can find posts of you critiquing Nachdi Jawani, SGPD, etc. Why would APD be exempt? EVERYONE on this forum is critiqued when a video is posted. There is no need for everyone to be so sensitive. Clearly, APD is not upset over the critiques and are handling it like adults. The truth is the only immature posts are from people who want to shout down any respectful critique offered.

Just curious to know Fookera and JunglyJatt would you two not have had an issue if APD had used a big box to "throw" their sapps into when they switched props behind their sign? Is the issue the fact that they threw them or the fact that they threw them into a garbage can? Would it have been an issue if they used a different receptacle, like a black/red/white box? In any case, another question I had for Fookerah is that you said that their khundaa segment shouldn't count because half the team is holding up a table from home depot, then what about when teams do a sapp/khundaa segment? Is that satisfactory to you as a bhangra expert or do you feel that teams that do that are lacking? Just curious "homie" =)

Also curious as to what team you dance for (@ Fookerah), because one that incorporates all of those elements you mentioned in the way you say they should be incorporated, must be an amazing team to watch! Post a link to a video so we can all learn!!!

honestly its not like they threw the shikay in the garbage can. its comparable to throwing it in a bin thats not cylinder. if that makes any sense. look all im saying is whether or not you like it they have mad energy and they are synched like no other. and if you go to anyy comp ull see that during/after their performance almost everyone in the crowed is jumping out of their seats. that must mean something right?

as far as the same stunt over and over again...i agree. but they got first and i think the majority of the people at the competition agree that they deserved it.

APD is a MODERN team, so they will dance MODERN. They do competitions that they think they are capable of doing or are a challenge they would like to face. If professional judges (meaning judges with enough background in bhangra to leave competing teams statisfied) think they are worthy of first place, then SO BE IT! If you feel they shouldnt have, what honest difference does it make? The competition is OVER! And the placings are not gonna change cuz your kachi is in a bunch!! They work JUST as hard as your team, they love bhangra JUST as much as the next team. Who is anyone else to put them down because of it?

If you are raping their video over and over, finding flaws, then DAMN they must be doing SOMETHING RIGHT.

Yea, the routine is getting old... with the same stunt, same general choreo, kj style, and gimmicks but they have been getting first place time after time with that same old routine... If you knew your routine would bring in the first place spot... would YOU change it??

And no im not trying to be APD's chumcha or anything... but what would you do if people said this about your team? Can you honestly say that out of everything you've said (you being anyone who said something in this post) was meant as a legit constructive critique?? <3 k bye haha
