DJ Vig - This was the definition of a feel good mix. The intro was nice, thought you could have left out the first two songs though and have just gone into the Manak song. At the drop, you could have added in some of the Punjabi song's instrumental so that the flow remains solid. Good stuff...
DJ 1 gets my vote for sure. Gin and Juice worked legit perfectly. DJ 2's beat was a sick beat too, but a little too dark for the song. I think if this were a more intense old Punjabi school song, this would have been a more appropriate beat to throw behind it.
Close one here since both mixes have a similar layout. I really liked Praise the Lord in DJ 2's mix, but DJ 1 had the cleaner mix. However, I thought that the rap lyrics came in abruptly in DJ 1's mix and didn't do much for the mix overall. My vote is DJ 2 because of flow.
Good mix. Sounded like there was too much compression going on. From what I'm hearing the volume in the original song is dipping every time there is supposed to be a kick, but like Basim mentioned, the kicks/bass are also being drowned out so there's no real effect taking place with all of that...
DJ 1: Didn't like the instrumental at the drop and thought the intro was processed poorly. Concept was better than DJ 2's though. And I liked the inclusion of Amb da boota in it.
DJ 2: The hip hop vocals were out of key which made it sound abrupt af. The abruptness would've worked if it was in...
First one sounded like the template was ripped right from a Frenzy mix haha. Mixed cleanly for sure so I would probably give it to DJ 1.
DJ 2 could've done a lot more with the song, the chord progression got redundant so it didn't do much for the overall mix. Original song could have been...
DJ 2 took a risk which I appreciate. Listening to it made me feel like it was incomplete though. With more layering this would be a banger. DJ 1 had the cleaner mix, however so I will have to give it to them.
Interesting to hear both mixes using Calvin Harris tracks. I loved the funky vibe added to it. Both mixes had pitch issues (the Calvin Harris beats follow a weird chord progression which causes things to go off key during the 8 count phrases). This stood out more in DJ 2's mix, which is why I'll...
