Re: Re: NJ Warriors Warriors @ BAB 2014
Believe it or not, I found this to be cleaner than Boston. I know the slip ups were there, but overall execution was more uniform and controlled here. Part of it probably stems from the fact that they didn't do as many crazy innovative moves or...
So my teammates on JJ and UVA (plus a couple from MOB ;D ) got together and put on an amazing performance at my wedding reception this past weekend, and I wanted to make sure that everyone here got a chance to enjoy it as well. Shoutout to Iqwak too for being the best DJ ever and coming out...
First off, the dancing is a big plus for this team, execution and style is on point. The red guy is probably one of the chillest dancers I've seen, you execute moves almost lazily (in a good way, like you make it look super easy) and with such control/grace. Props for that, I definitely...
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. When teams themselves post a video on a public forum, they're openly asking for feedback. But what if they're not looking for any feedback and their video gets posted anyway? This doesn't necessarily have to do with Shan-e Punjab, but just a...
You could say that about any art form though. When you are the progenitors of anything new, of course any expertise is going to be imagined. What's the difference between the first bhangra 'ustaads' and the first bboys, or the first ballet dancers? Maybe we're both taking Ashveer's quote out of...
This is actually kinda interesting, not because of the drama in the posts above, but because it's not like SEP is asking for feedback from BTF. There are usually plenty of teams which post their own videos and actually ask for feedback, but these days with GTV going to EVERY single bhangra...
Impressive set. The dancing quality seems to have made great strides since Tdot. There's a lot more emphasis on choreography and formations than there was in previous sets that I've seen (Tdot, last year's Bell), and I think that makes you guys a lot stronger. I honestly thought this would win...
I don't mean to be rude, but why would they tell anyone outside their team how they made their khunde light up like that? It's like asking a magician how they do their magic tricks. If everyone knew how to do it like they did, everyone would put it into their next set, and that makes it less...
Wow, this is a side of SMD i've never seen before. Very clean, very even energy throughout, very nice choreography. I especially liked the bedi segment, something I found more unique. Definitely one of the most enjoyable performances I've seen in a while.
Only one thing I didn't like though...
The crowd was crazy, props to whoever was in charge of advertising because I haven't seen a crowd like that since elite 8.
One note: control the audience that is directly in front of the judges. I saw Arjun Kaushal standing during some of the routines because the people in front of him wouldn't...
Yeah, but we also learned by watching some of the best dancers in the circuit in person, doing sets with them, and later making routines with an emphasis on form and execution first (doesn't matter what kind of style it is). The teams that did it right back then knew what they were doing and...
Fair enough, I'd much prefer the 2008 bhangra days over the 2014 gimmick days. At least dancers back then looked like they knew what they were doing instead of looking like they learned bhangra from youtube.
