Depends on the competition. As far as I know, Idols has a very elaborate system for judging which may have placings dependent solely on points. If that's the case, then the judges just have to deal with the fact that their system led to a tie. Other competitions may allow judges some more...
Dude, DAR is booked probably more than a year in advance, and consider that Blowout goes through an annual committee change, it's never so simple as you think it is. The Blowout committee messed up a couple years ago when they lost DAR as a venue, but the new one can't be blamed for that.
Do you know how hard DAR is to book? I hate Warner with a passion, but I'm sure it's not the current committee's fault that they couldn't get DAR again.
Anil slightly improved on that theme with Bhangra Allstars: a white xl shirt with Bhangra Allstars in a black font PLUS a few weirdly shaped dholis. I'm never wearing that shirt anywhere
Which competition t-shirts do you wear out proudly, and which ones do you hide in the back of your closet?
Best: Elite 8; Bhangra in the Burgh; Bhangra Blowout 2010 had the best T-shirt design i've seen
Worst: Bhangra Allstars; Boston Bhangra-Great competition, but the shirt is the same...
Loved every second of it, amazing execution by everyone. What would take this team to the next level would be more visually appealing formation mechanisms, nobody in the west except for Empire seems to do them.
VCU Bhangra @ Boston Bhangra 2009: this was their best set of the year, not the Elite 8 routine
Jawani Warriors @ AVAP 2009
Nachdi Jawani Warriors @ TBYF 2009
SGPD @ Bhangra Idols 2009: their best set in terms of both choreography and execution
NYPD @ Boston Bhangra 2010: wish you guys didn't...
SGPD, but I hope they don't take their competition too lightly and make a half assed routine like they did last year. Since they won Elite 8 they've lost their energy and become sloppy, and I'm really looking forward to a return to form.
That's the point, they don't want their routines to be seen yet, it takes away the intrigue if you've already seen the tricks before. They've asked for people to refrain from putting videos up after each of their competitions, but it still happens.
The issue lies with judging, as some judges are against it for some reason, and others may not care. As the judges change with time, notions of traditionality seem to change with it. In my opinion, as long as judges for a particular competition are consistent in what they make deductions for and...
Avengers gimmick, one guy had thor's hammer and another had the captain america shield. I think.
Idk, these are hands down the best dancers in the circuit, but maybe they're bored or something so they modify every single move that they can. Whatever it was, the overall effect was lost on me...
Hahaha nope, it always takes forever to get prize money. I'm pretty sure that we (uva) didn't get our prize money from bib 3 or blowout until late in the summer, and those are both very well organized comps.
